The Rhythm Imprints Presents “The Rhythm Sessions”
What We Believe In....
For these two brothers it’s all about good music, having fun, being creative and not being afraid of trying something new. Music is more stressful as job than as a hobby. For us sound is very important specially for our music its like the art of what we doing"
Objective
To be free and do what we want but most importantly bring the music to the people. We want this to become a movement within society. To build a brand that will represent what we stand for which is one thing “Good Music”. We would like to take the “The Rhythms Sessions” to another level make it travel the world. We want to see ourselves playing at the 'Miami' Winter Music” Conference or even at a place like “DJOON Club in France”, “The Ministry of sound” in London and having mix show on KAYAFM
Mission
Is to tap into a market that exists already but has not been explored to its full potential. We want to teach people about “Good Music” but doing it in a right way by taking you on a journey. We plan to do that by paying attention to detail, by looking the part, the kinds of people that will attend our events and having a booming sound system, the lighting and ambience in the venues should represent our brand.
Venues
The music will be completed by the venue, places “Capital Underground”, ”The Venue”, “The Sound Room” and “Pacha”
How we got into House
We was inspired by obvious South African DJs like Monde, Vinny, Fresh, Oskido, Christos, The musical maestro in no particular order though. Growing up after a few years then we became inspired by Louie Vega, Kenny Dope, Alix Alverez, Mr.V, Frankie Feliciano, Todd Terry, Reelsoul, DJ Spinna, Quentin Harris, Selan, Dennis Ferrer, Franck Roger, Kerri Chandler, Marlon D, Ian Friday, Jovonn, Manoo in no particular order but our initial spark came from Alix Alverez and Frankie Feliciano.
Then after we started collecting music. Compare to now it used to be easy to get your hands on good music because you would just walk into a local record store and pay the bucks and get it where by now we get mp3 and its now easy for everybody to become a DJ.
Then we got tired of collecting and actually decided to put the music to use and we started hanging out at a dope spot in Rosebank called ‘spinout’.
Now this is where everyone who wanted to be a DJ and didn’t have they own equipment used to hang out and we would just mess around and do the basics and go home late and hungry afterwards.
We did spinout for a year or so then came the Southern African Music Conference 2006 hosted by DJU whereby guys like Louie Vega and his band (E.O.L), Alix Alverez, Mr.V, Franck Roger where part of it and brought to life. After seeing those guys we was like “Yo that’s what we need to be doing right there”… straight after the SAMC 2006 we started doing research about these guys, checking out their videos on youtube.com, signing in on site like myspace.com etc then straight after that we really got hectically into this, we kept it moving and the only way we looked was forward.
Edsoul and Fang are busy with their upcoming mixes which they call " The Rhythm Sessions Mixes called "The Rhythm Shack" this are mixes that showcase the ability of these Dj's/aspiring producers. The mixes contain a mixture of Deep House Tunes Ranging from Soul, Tech, and Vocals... Also watch out for parties that will be soon hosted by these Young Guns ... They are still under construction!!!! (Watch This Space)
